UAlbany NanoCollege to Host Community Day as Part of NANOvember

The College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering (CNSE) of the University at Albany will give children, adults and families throughout the Capital Region and New York State a firsthand look at the exciting world of nanotechnology when it hosts CNSE Community Day on Saturday, November 3 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at CNSE’s Albany NanoTech Complex.

Turnout is expected to eclipse the 1,200 people who attended CNSE’s Community Day last year. The event marks the kickoff of CNSE’s 5th annual celebration of NANOvember, a month-long community and educational outreach initiative that includes a series of events and activities showcasing the emerging science of nanotechnology and the global leadership of the UAlbany NanoCollege and New York State.

Visitors will receive guided tours of the world-class cleanroom facilities at CNSE’s Albany NanoTech Complex - the most advanced research enterprise in the academic world - and participate in presentations, booths, interactive demonstrations and hands-on activities that highlight the important educational opportunities and technological breakthroughs being enabled by nanotechnology, in fields ranging from electronics, energy and the environment to health care, information technology and national defense.
