Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., the world leader in serving science, will be showcasing its complete portfolio of instruments, accessories, consumables and software solutions on booths B1-C11 in hall 6.1 at ACHEMA 2009, Frankfurt am Main, Germany, May 11 - 15. Under the theme "Passport to Science", the company will be exhibiting industry-leading solutions offering unmatched performance, reliability and value in both research and routine applications from sample preparation and analysis through to data interpretation and storage.
Newly exhibited will be the Thermo Scientific Exactive, the latest liquid chromatography mass spectrometry (LC-MS) system introduced to improve workflows in pharmaceutical, food, environmental and industrial laboratories, as well as the Thermo Scientific TSQ Quantum GC, the most sensitive triple quadrupole GC-MS/MS designed for increased selectivity in complex matrices for lower analyte detection limits. Also on display is a new solution that provides information on structural elucidation and compound quantitation and reveals the history and origin of compounds by reading their isotopic signature with high precision. The new Thermo Scientific irm-GC/MS solution features the new GC Isolink integrated to the TRACE GC Ultra with the DELTA V isotope ratio mass spectrometer. In addition to these products will be an assortment of Chromatography systems, columns and accessories to include the ITQ ion trap and DSQII single quadrupole gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC/MS) instruments along with the Accela ultra high performance liquid chromatography (U-HPLC) systems, delivering unsurpassed performance that addresses the growing productivity needs found in Toxicology/Forensics, Pharmaceutical, Food, Safety and Environmental laboratories alike.
Also featuring on the booth at Achema will be Thermo Scientific atomic absorption (AA), inductively coupled plasma (ICP), inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), combustion, X-ray fluorescence (XRF)/X-ray diffractive (XRD) and optical emission spectroscopy (OES) product offerings. Combining reliability, superior performance, versatility and ease-of use, these elemental solutions are able to analyze samples easily and cost-effectively. Launching for the first time in Europe at ACHEMA 2009 will be the company's latest combustion elemental analyzer, the Thermo Scientific TITAN 4000. This innovative product is designed for today's demanding petrochemical industries and is the smallest in the market. Powerful advances in technology within the TITAN 4000 deliver exceptional results, including Total Nitrogen/Total Sulfur (TN/TS) analysis in less than two minutes and improved savings on consumables.
In addition, Thermo Fisher offers the most complete line of molecular spectroscopy instrumentation available on the market, backed by superior technical service and driven by dedication to customer satisfaction. A comprehensive range of fluorometry, fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) and Infrared Microsampling, Visible and UV-Vis, fourier transform near infrared (FT-NIR) and Raman products and the new Thermo Scientific OMNIC Specta Software ensures that all analytical requirements are met. Systems such as the Antaris Target NIR Blend Analyzer, Nicolet iN10 MX infrared imaging microscope and iS10 FT-IR spectrometer are suitable for an extended range of applications, including raw material ID, tablet analysis, reaction monitoring, polymorph characterization, quality by design (QBD) manufacturing, root cause analysis and out of spec investigations.
Also new is Thermo Scientific Connects, a new program aimed at bridging the gap between laboratory generated data and the enterprise level information that is required for mission critical management decisions. Connects is a solution set that leverages the company's breadth of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and Chromatography Data Systems (CDS) capabilities, as well as expertise in enterprise systems integration to help streamline and improve the transfer of knowledge between laboratory-generated data and enterprise-level information systems. Connects allows organizations to integrate application-specific workflows, thereby transforming laboratory data into relevant business information and maximizing a company's enterprise system investments to better support critical management decisions in today's resource-constrained environment.
Also on display will be Thermo Scientific SampleManager LIMS, the company's flagship LIMS for industrial process laboratories. SampleManager LIMS increases productivity, improves access to data, and ensures documentation compliance with regulatory requirements such as ISO 17025. SampleManager LIMS benefits management by providing a centralized system to access data and extract information, allowing more effectively management of laboratory operations.
Another featured product from the company's gravimetric instruments product line is the Thermo Scientific thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA) VersaTherm that allows scientists to study samples' weight changes under extreme conditions including:, sample size to 100 g, volume up to 35 mL, vacuum to 10-5 torr, and under desirable reaction gas environment. With its patented design and coupling, Thermo Scientific VersaTherm units can be coupled to an evolved gas analyzer like the Thermo Scientific Nicolet 6700 FTIR spectrometer to pass over the most concentrated sample effluents for identification, helping scientists to understand reaction mechanism.
Booths B1-C11 will also feature the Thermo Scientific Aquakem, a discrete photometric analyzer for easy and cost-effective water and environmental testing as well as the automated photometric system, Arena, for food and beverage analysis. Using the Arena analyzer, Thermo Fisher has just developed a new simple and effective method for the determination of asparagine levels in both raw and processed foods. Asparagine reacts with reducing sugars like glucose at temperatures above 160 ?C to produce acrylamide, a suspected carcinogen. Formation of acrylamide is a concern in the processing of fried, baked or roasted processed foods such as potato chips or French fries, and baked cereals
The Thermo Scientific Orion AQUAfast AQIII series of meters for colorimetry and turbidity measurements, the Thermo Scientific Orion DUAL STAR meter and the Thermo Scientific Orion ROSS Ultra Low Maintenance Triode and a new line of Green Electrodes will also be displayed on booth during Achema 2009. The complete product line of Thermo Scientific laboratory glassware, centrifuges, incubators, chromatography consumables, storage, separation consumables and pumps can also be seen in the same booth area in Hall 6.1.
To be displayed on the Thermo Scientific booths # H40 - J41 in Hall 10.1 is the new Thermo Scientific M-PULSe ultrasonic flow meter. Ideal for custody transfer and leak detection, the M-PULSe combines a multi-path ultrasonic flowmeter with a fast flow computer to create a bi-directional liquid flow measurement system that offers the highest attainable accuracy. The system's accuracy surpasses the API required custody transfer specification of ±0.15%, making it the most reliable flowmeter on the market today. Furthermore the next-generation Thermo Scientific AutoPILOT PRO is designed to scale from a simple, single run measurement application to six runs with full station control. This accurate, easy-to-use gas flow computer features full USB support and is simple to configure with no pro
