Arkema, a major provider of multiwall carbon nanotubes, has announced that it will take part in NANO KOREA 2012, a key international exhibition dedicated to nanotechnologies. The exhibition will be conducted from August 16 to 18 at COEX, Seoul, Korea.
Arkema will exhibit its latest generation Graphistrength master batches of solid concentrates, elastomers and thermoplastics for applications in conductive additives for use in lithium ion battery technologies, and in thermoset, water-soluble or polyurethane formulations.
This new generation of master batches comprises carbon nanotubes as high as 45% in weight. Utilized as additives, these master batches are recognized for their ability to optimize mechanical performances as well as electrical conductivity. These latest generation master batches demonstrate higher performances when compared to the direct use of carbon nanotube powder, because of the optimal pre-dispersion of carbon nanotubes. These master batches are also user-friendly as they eliminate the requirement for investments for secure handling. Moreover, they enable much more easier and accurate dosage.
Arkema, a key manufacturer of nanostructured materials, has established a carbon nanotube production facility at its Mont site (France, Pyrénées-Atlantiques). The facility with an annual production capacity of 400 tons operates a breakthrough process. It is the world’s only carbon nanotube production facility to utilize a completely bio-sourced raw material.
The company is a major chemical manufacturer in France and produces advanced specialty chemicals that offer practical solutions to challenges such as the requirement for lighter materials, fossil fuel preservation, the future of energy, access to drinking water and climate change.
