LOT-Oriel Announces Availability of Quantum PPMS EverCool-II

The Quantum Physical Property Measurement System (PPMS) EverCool-II™ dewar is the second generation of low-loss dewars with integrated Helium liquefier for the PPMS system from Quantum Design. It allows the continuous operation of the PPMS System without the supply with liquid Helium.

In contrast to the EverCool-I, the new generation also does not need any liquid Helium for the initial cooldown. Thus the system may be operated totally cryogen free. Due to the new design, the maintenance effort for the GM cooler unit is drastically reduced. Furthermore, the manufacturing costs could be reduced significantly.

Specifications:

  • PPMS with 9-Tesla or smaller longitudinal magnet (or smaller)
  • 5 l/min He liquefication rate at room temperature
  • 300 l/day typical He consumption
