Bart Hoogenboom Appointed New Head of R&D, Bringing Expertise in Biophysics and Advanced Scientific Instrument Design

Bart is currently a Professor of Biophysics at University College London (UCL), where he will retain an appointment to help ensure the completion of various research projects. Originally trained as a solid-state physicist, he has pioneered AFM methods for biological applications, resulting in the visualization of the DNA double helix, in novel approaches to study poration through and transport across membranes, and in high-resolution imaging of living bacteria.
