Ten years after Sulfurcell was founded, it would be renamed as Soltecture. The new name stands for advanced performances in solar technology and architecture and is a deeper representation of the core competencies of the company.
The intention behind the renaming is to represent the transition of the company from module manufacturing to providing optimum integrated PV systems. Soltecture has a proven track record in CIS thin film technology and has been providing highly efficient PV thin film solutions. The company has received many coveted awards such as the Eurosolar award in 2010 and Solarprize’s ‘Land of Ideas, award for their advanced research and innovative products.
The CIS solar modules from Soltecture have shown high efficiency of performance. TUV Rheinland gave an official confirmation of the performance by giving output statistics as 94 Watt. After the completion of weeks 13% of aperture efficiency was shown. Production of almost 80% of the yield was completed within three months from the start of production. The produced solar modules showed high efficiency and four out of five modules met the specifications. In the next 10-16 months the company aims at increasing the module-efficiency to more than 14%.
Soltecture has been involved in the manufacture of CIS layers that use selenium instead of sulfur since 2008. This method of coating has shown very high efficiency. The research and development of operations of Soltecture are backed by the flexible framework at the Berlin production unit. Soltecture offers standard solutions for integrating their high-performance and optically aesthetic film modules with challenging construction modules such as factories, roofs and modern buildings.
