Futurist and Science Fiction Author Arthur C. Clarke Dies

Science fiction writer, futurist and author of the 3 laws of robotics, Arthur C Clarke, has died aged 90 in Sri Lanka.

Although Clarke found fame as the author of the story "The Sentinel", later turned into a ground breaking movie "2001: A Space Odyssey" by director Stanley Kubrick, his work also had real implications for the sciences. During World War II, Clarke was in the Royal Air Force and worked on the development of radar and is credited with having thought up the concept of communication satellites.
