Zyvex Hosts Session at Nanotech 2012 to Discuss Strategies for Carbon Nanotechnology Commercialization

As part of its 15th anniversary, Zyvex Technologies, a specialist in carbon nanotechnology products, will host a special session titled ‘Carbon Nanotechnology: From Chemistry to Commercialization - Why Relationships are More Important than Technology’ at Nanotech 2012, a part of TechConnect World.

At the Zyvex session, corporate venture and start-up leaders and academic researchers will discuss the significance of creating real applications; establishing a link between IP and partnerships, products and markets while seeking investments; and forming new revenue stream and collaborations with customers, investors and partners.

Michael Tomczyk, Managing Director of the The Mack Center for Innovation at The Wharton School, Mike Nemeth, Zyvex Technologies, Dr. Brent Segal, Lockheed Martin Advanced Technology Center, Ken Epstein, NewCap Partners, and Erin Brown, APV NanoFusing, a subsidiary of APV Engineered Coatings will participate in the session to discuss the strategies of commercializing carbon nanotechnology.

A focus on forming connections is what helped Zyvex to get academic and government grants such as the one from the State of Ohio’s Third Frontier program. The company shifted to Ohio from Texas in 2007. The state announced in June 2012 Ohio as the Home of Carbon Nanotechnology. Governor of the State of Ohio, John R. Kasich stated that Zyvex has developed as a leader of carbon nanotechnology and an expert in advanced materials, as well as in the commercialization of these advanced materials.

Zyvex Technologies has been named a Top 10 Innovative company by Lux Research for the period of Q1 2012 According to Lux Research analysts, Zyvex’ proprietary polymer technology and innovative business strategy make it one among the few developers who have succeeded in the commercialization of structural nanocomposites.
