Professor Maier Recognized for Outstanding Research in Nano-Plasmonics and Nano-Photonics

Nanonics is pleased to offer our congratulations to Professor Stefan A. Maier Physics Department, Co-Director, Centre for Plasmonics &  Metamaterials, Imperial College of London, England.

Prof. Maier's work on nanoparticle waveguides made the cover of Nature Materials in March 2003.

Professor Maier is the recent recipient of The Raymond and Beverly Sackler Prize in the Physical Sciences, for outstanding theoretical and experimental research in nano-plasmonics and nano-photonics; in particular on the propagation of surface plasmons-polaritons along a chain of metallic nano-particles.

The Raymond and Beverly Sackler Prize in the Physical Sciences, awarded at TelAviv University, has been established through the generosity of Dr. Raymond and Mrs. Beverly Sackler. The research field for 2010 is Physics – Nano-Photonics and Nano-Plasmonics.

The prize will be awarded to the recipients in person on May 10, 2010, during the one-day workshop honoring the distinguished laureates and at the annual session of the Tel Aviv University Board of Governors.
