Nanotechnology Academic and Technical Experts Deliver Presentations at SEMICON West 2010

Recognized academic and technical experts from the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering (CNSE) of the University at Albany delivered presentations on July 14 at SEMICON West 2010, a leading industry conference and trade show held July 13 through 15 in San Francisco, CA.

Dr. Robert Geer, CNSE Vice President for Academic Affairs and Chief Academic Officer, and Professor of Nanoscale Science, and CNSE Associate Vice President for Technical Operations Michael Tittnich were selected as featured speakers for the TechXPOT series targeting the latest technology developments and breakthroughs in nanoelectronics manufacturing.

Geer's presentation, entitled "End of Roadmap and Post-CMOS Interconnects: Addressing Latency and Bandwidth Needs," focused on approaches to overcome the interconnect roadblocks predicted for future 3D computer chips.

Tittnich discussed "A Consortia-based Approach to Provide a Cost Effective, Integrated Platform for EUV Lithography Technology Development," which showcased the success of the public-private partnership at CNSE in enabling a centralized location for leading-edge research and development to accelerate the integration of advanced EUV lithography technologies.

SEMICON West annually attracts more than 45,000 attendees from over 15 countries, as well as the world's leading nanoelectronics companies, which are responsible for every major technology breakthrough since the birth of the integrated circuit.
