Synopsys Declares Availability of DesignWare AEON NVM IP for 180 nm Processing Technologies

Synopsys has made DesignWare AEON Non-Volatile Memory (NVM) IP available for multiple process technologies of 180 nm.

The products of DesignWare AEON NVM IP are radio-frequency identification (RFID), multiple-time programmable (MTP), erasable programmable read-only memory (EEPROM), and few-time programmable (FTP) IP solutions.

DesignWare AEON NVM IP is available in different memory configurations exceeding 100 in number, suitable for top process technologies meeting all the necessary industrial specifications. It finds implementation in standard CMOS process technology for programming and re-programming without extra mask or process stages needed. It is apt for mixed-signal SoC, wireless, radio-frequency identification and analog designs.

Synopsys' wide portfolio of FTP and MTP NVM IP solutions offers ideal electrical functionality for several end applications such as enhancing performance and calibration in precision analog designs, providing long-lasting quality in real-time datalogging applications, and enabling storage of data in ultra-low power wireless applications. These products help designers by decreasing risk and cost associated in incorporating NVM IP into respective SoC designs.

One of the major advantages of DesignWare AEON NVM IP is that is it does not require a heavy power generating circuit enabling the operation of design from a single neutral supply. This overcomes the difficulties in sustaining a high-voltage I/O pad and generating a separate, high-voltage signal for NVM programming. DesignWare AEON NVM IP facilitates increased temperature ranges that exceed the standard industrial value, about 1250C for industrial and commercial sectors and 1500C for automotive sectors. This enables development of SoCs strong enough to survive rough processes, high voltage and temperature changes.

The DesignWare AEON are available in several configurations to suit SoCs design such as AEON/FTP Trim that is suitable for mixed-signal and analog SoC designs providing area usage about 256 bits in less than 0.07 mm2, offering extra functionalities over one-time programmable (OTP) solutions, and providing 100 write cycles; AEON/MTP RFID, an ultra-low power solution is suitable for RFID and wireless SoC designs providing 1,000 write cycles with read operation as low as 1.0 V; and AEON/MTP EEPROM compliant with automotive grade standards (AEC-Q100), provides nearly one million write cycles at high temperatures about 1500C.

DesignWare AEON NVM IP used in 180-nm process technology is now available for various leading factories and 65-nm to 250-nm processing technologies.
