According to Yole Developpement’s Annual Top 30 MEMS Report, Silex Microsystems has been ranked as the largest pure-play MEMS foundry in the world.
Silex Microsystems’ vast experience in MEMS, advanced technologies, and mass production capabilities helps the company to retain its top position for the second consecutive year. The company’s mass production capabilities allow its customers to consistently and rapidly commercialize products at a lower cost and help them ramp up mass production.
Yole Developpement’s MEMS market & technology analysis reported that revenues of the top 30 MEMS foundries achieved an increase of 5% to over $600 million in 2011. Revenues of Silex Microsystems reached $47 million, representing 27% growth in 2011. It is the first company to surpass the $40 million sales mark.
Silex Microsystems’ Chief Executive Officer, Gary Johnson stated that Yole Developpement’s top ranking status to the company shows the continuing success of its strategy that allows its customers to quickly bring their MEMS products to the marketplace. The company’s customers not only get a chance to work with MEMS production experts but also benefit from the company’s worldwide ecosystem of development partners who help in the rapid commercialization of MEMS products.
