Anton Paar introduces the new UNHT Series, a new generation of nanoindentation systems designed to deliver reliable results, faster workflows, and greater versatility across a wide range of materials.

At the core of the series is a measurement concept that directly references the sample surface. This approach minimizes the influence of thermal drift and frame compliance, and reduces the need for corrective post- processing. The result is greater confidence in measured indentation depth and in the mechanical properties derived from it.
“Reliable nanoindentation depends not only on measurement resolution, but also on how effectively the system controls the factors that can influence the result,” says Pavel Sedmak, Product Manager for the UNHT series at Anton Paar. “With the new UNHT series, we have focused on combining surface-referenced measurement with faster workflows and broader measurement capabilities, helping users characterize materials efficiently while maintaining confidence in their data.”
UNHT 700 is designed for demanding, high-performance applications. It combines high-speed indentation, advanced mapping capabilities, positioning accuracy down to 100 nm, SPM imaging, and dynamic mechanical analysis up to 300 Hz. These capabilities support detailed characterization of complex materials while reducing the time required for large measurement campaigns.
For soft and biological materials, UNHT 300 Bio provides a dedicated solution for applications including tissues, hydrogels, scaffolds, and polymers. It supports advanced DMA measurements up to 300 Hz, adhesion evaluation, automated contact detection, and dedicated protocols for biological samples.
Both systems feature a redesigned, workflow-oriented software environment that simplifies operation, reduces training effort, and helps users move more efficiently from sample setup to meaningful material insight.
