China Electronics Fair Features Touch Sensitive MP-4 Players Enabled by Carbon Nanotube TCF

Unidym, a majority owned subsidiary of Arrowhead Research Corporation (NASDAQ:ARWR), announced today that touch sensitive MP-4 players enabled by Unidym's transparent conductive films were displayed at the 75th China Electronics Fair.

The Fair was held at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center on April 9-11, and the devices were displayed in an exhibit of G Star Laser.

"With more touch panels being made in China than anywhere else in the world, China represents one of the largest markets for our transparent conductive films," said Mark Tilley, President and CEO of Unidym. "This demonstration of our technology in touch sensitive MP-4 players marks the launch of a more aggressive effort in to market our films in China."

Unidym, in partnership with various customers, has demonstrated that its films can be substantially more robust than traditional transparent conductive films based on indium tin oxide. Additionally, because the films can be printed through a solution-based roll to roll manufacturing process, they can be produced at a substantially lower cost than vacuum deposited ITO films.

Unidym is a leader in carbon nanotube-based transparent, conductive films (TCFs) for the electronics industry. TCFs are a critical component in devices such as touch panels, displays, and thin-film solar cells. For example, both touch panels and LCDs typically employ two TCF layers per device. Unidym's TCFs offer substantial advantages over the incumbent technology, indium-based metal oxides, including: improved durability, lower processing costs, and lower overall cost structure.
