Quantum Dots (QDs)

Merck offers a wide range of Quantum dots (QDs). QDs are semiconducting nanocrystals capable of converting a spectrum of light into another frequency of energy. QDs have exceptional optoelectronic and electronic properties that enable tunability of energy levels depending on their color or wavelength.

QDs can be designed to absorb or emit particular wavelengths of light by adjusting their physical dimensions. As QDs increase in size, their emission will have a red spectral shift. The QDs from Merck include carbon-based, inorganic and perovskite quantum dots and also ready-to-use kits.
