Strasbaugh (OTC Bulletin Board: STRB) announced today that it has received a multi-million dollar order for its new STB P300 CMP system. The order follows the recent introduction of the product at Semicon West 2009. The tool was purchased by a U.S. customer.

"Device makers are telling us they need a new generation CMP system that not only improves their process performance, but has the design and features that will enable them to realize the efficiencies of lean and flexible manufacturing. This order confirms the P300 delivers the benefits they are looking for," said Chuck Schillings, Strasbaugh's President and CEO.

The P300 combines the greatest production and process flexibility of any CMP machine on the market with the most advanced CMP technologies available, including Strasbaugh's revolutionary new nVision II(TM) optical endpoint detection system, next generation Saturn(TM) wafer carrier, ultra Precision(TM) pad conditioner, and industry-proven integrated cleaning.
