Nanostructured Membranes: A New Class of Protonic Conductor for Miniature Fuel Cells

a new way to realize miniature fuel cells (FC) is demonstrated using nanostructured porous silicon (PS) as a protonic conductor. Using a chemical grafting technique an inorganic, structurally stable, proton conducting membrane is produced with many optimizable parameters.
