The most recent generation of DMA density meters for liquids incorporates the world’s fastest and most accurate digital density meters, ensuring a superior user experience and response time.
Anton Paar’s unique Pulsed Excitation Method (PEM) is combined with a new, even smarter algorithm to power the Next-Level density meters DMA 4101, DMA 4501, and DMA 5001. In just 20 seconds, the new ultra-fast measurement mode provides results with four digits accuracy. There is no need to wait for the temperature to adjust, the intelligent DMA predicts the outcome with absolute precision.
The camera for visual examination of the measuring cell has a 3× higher resolution of 1280 px × 800 px, as well as frame repositioning, backlight adaptation, and a zoom function, enabling detailed visual checks during filling and cleaning for results that are 100% accurate. The new software offers faster updates and a more user-friendly interface.
Three different models are available:
- DMA 4001: It is the fastest digital density meter, capable of measuring 4-digit density in 20 seconds and allowing for high throughput in quality control with ultra-fast measuring mode
- DMA 4501: It is an ideal quality assurance and production control tool for a large number of samples with 5-digit accuracy
- DMA 5001: It provides unrivaled 6-digit accuracy and an accurate measuring mode on top for measurements that require extreme precision. It is perfect for high-end R&D applications and sets the tone for authorities and standards organizations
Key Features
The major features of DMA 4001/DMA 4501/DMA 5001 are:
Modular Setup — For a High Sample Throughput
The new density meters include a variety of multiparameter analysis options (6+ additional parameters, 6+ different sample changers) as well as measurement automation to save time.
It helps ensure the highest possible sample throughput and avoids filling issues associated with manual operation by combining a wide range of sample changers committed to the specific application and measurement demands — with automatic measurement, temperature control, and cleaning cycles.
Patented Measuring Principle
Rapid and accurate measurement with no compromise. The density is evaluated on the basis of oscillating U-tube technology with Anton Paar’s patented Pulsed Excitation Method (PEM; patent AT 516420 B1).
Users can benefit from automatic viscosity correction, an ultra-fast measurement mode, and the bubble-detection feature FillingCheck™ — in real-time, with both horizontal and vertical syringe filling and including recognition of invisible microbubbles. All appropriate incidents are documented.
Data Management — On the Instrument or via Software
The instruments work with a variety of data interfaces and when combined with AP Connect, the lab execution software, lay the groundwork for future paperless labs. There is the capacity for storing 10,000 measurements on the instrument level, as well as user-defined output reports. Data export is 6× faster than the previous version. Data Management can be simplified with or without a network connection.
Customization — Zero Chance for Human Errors
There are 200+ predefined measuring quantities and scales for known standard materials to choose from. The user can save time and money by avoiding manual calculations and human errors. Customized report configuration enables easier data management.
Data Integrity and Compliance with Industry Standards
The new, high-performance density meters provide precision and sample diagnostics as per industry-wide standards (ASTM D4052, D5002, and ISO 12185, USP <841> and other Pharmacopeias, etc.).
Establish a meticulous audit trail, complete with signatures of measurement results (user management) — all in accordance with GMP/GLP and 21 CFR Part 11 compliance. Fulfill data integrity and traceability requirements (e.g., 21 CFR Part 11, GMP 4 Annex 11&15, ALCOA+) and prepare for — and pass — internal and external audits.
