PI’s PiezoMike Linear Actuators for Tuning Mechanical and Optomechanical Components

This video offers a glimpse into the features of PiezoMike series of linear actuators by Physik Instrumente (PI). Based on low-cost inertia principle, the PiezoMike linear actuators are distinguished by their compact design, long lifetime, and travel ranges up to 26 mm. The linear actuators are fitted with position sensors that detect the motion exactly with an incremental encoder. In addition, the piezo actuator drive provides high resolution, high operating frequency, and high reliability.

Features of the N-472 PiezoMike linear actuator are compact design, built-in position sensor, <1 nm closed-loop resolution, high position stability, holding force >100 N, feed force >20 N, self-locking at rest even when closed-loop control is switched off, and a travel range of 7.5 mm and 13 mm. It is also non-magnetic and vacuum compatible. PiezoMike linear actuators are used for adjusting mechanical and optomechanical components
