NanoMend pan-European FP7 Project Overview

NanoMend is a pan-European FP7 project that aims to develop in-line defect detection systems that are capable of detecting micro and nano sized defects within the thin films that coat flexible electronics and paper food cartons.

These defects are currently accelerating the degradation of the efficiency of flexible electronics, such as bendable solar modules. Furthermore they increase the chance of food in environmentally friendly paper cartons from spoiling.

Therefore, by developing a means of producing higher quality barrier coatings, NanoMend will help flexible electronics and paper packaging to appear more frequently in our everyday lives.

Run time - 5:22 minutes.
