Samsung Release new Line of Refrigerators Featuring Silver Nanoparticle Technology

Samsung Electronics released a new line of side-by-side refrigerators with advanced health-friendly features for the Korean Market.

The new refrigerators are the first to use nano-silver particles to the water dispenser system and deodorizer unit.

In addition, nano-technology has been applied to the vegetable compartment and “neo-fresh” compartment to create an anti-bacterial gasket.

The “neo-fresh” function, which is applied to models with 600 litres or larger capacities, fully maintains meat freshness and nutrition for up to 15 days. This fact was verified by a team of researchers led by Dr. Paul Singh at the University of California Davis. Now, Samsung Electronics has patents pending on its “neo-fresh” technology in the US, China, Japan and Europe.

Also installed on these models is an inverter developed exclusively by Samsung that consumes 12% less electricity than other inverter types. Moreover, the entire Zipel line uses R134A refrigerant, which will not harm the ozone layer, and environment-friendly cyclo-pentane foam.
