Seven Nanotechnology Research Centres to get $7million in NanoQuébec Funding

The Board of Directors of NanoQuébec met this morning to consider the report of the international assessment committee.

The funding program has two primary objectives. The first is to ensure the stability and accessibility of the research platforms required for competitive research and the development of new applications; the second is to maximize the use of these facilities in order to propel Quebec into a national and international leadership position in nanotechnology.

The following seven facilities were selected. Six applications were accepted and the seventh received a favourable conditional response.

  • Ecole Polytechnique de Montréal (two projects)
  • Université de Sherbrooke
  • INRS-EMT
  • Université Laval
  • Université du Québec à Montréal
  • Université de Montréal
