Order Further Expands Aviza's Market Penetration in Asia

Aviza Technology, Inc., a supplier of advanced semiconductor capital equipment and process technologies for the global semiconductor industry and related markets, today announced that it has received a multiple system order from WIN Semiconductors Corporation (WIN), located in Taiwan, for a suite of single wafer processing systems. Further expanding Aviza's market penetration in Asia, this multisystem order consists of Sigma fxP PVD, Delta fxP CVD, Omega fxP and i2L etch systems. WIN is the largest pure-play GaAs foundry in the world. The Aviza systems ordered by WIN will support WIN's capacity expansion and shipments will be completed in the fourth quarter of Aviza's Fiscal Year 2008.

The PVD, CVD and etch systems, which all share the common, production-proven Aviza fxP platform, will be used for various process technologies required to fabricate GaAs devices. The GaAs devices manufactured by WIN using Aviza's systems and process technologies will be used in mobile communications, wireless and broadband market applications.

"Aviza Technology clearly understands the critical applications of GaAs manufacturing specifically as it relates to PVD, CVD and etch processing," said Dr. C.C. Chang, Associate Vice President at WIN Semiconductors Corp. "The company has demonstrated their technical expertise and reliable customer service and onsite support through the existing systems installed at WIN's Fab A, which have consistently delivered robust volume manufacturing results. As a single point supplier for PVD, CVD and etch systems, Aviza was the obvious choice to facilitate WIN's capacity ramp with minimal risk and to continue providing productive systems with high uptimes, process repeatability and process flexibility."

"Aviza Technology is proud of the role it has played in supporting WIN's manufacturing needs to date," said Kevin Crofton, Senior Vice President, Product Business Units of Aviza Technology, Inc. "Our long standing partnership, which goes back to WIN's founding as the world's first pure-play 6-inch GaAs foundry in 1999, coupled with Aviza's selection as WIN's preferred supplier for PVD, CVD, etch systems, further demonstrates the ongoing success of our partnership. We look forward to delivering the systems and process expertise to support WIN's high volume production requirements and future growth."

Note to editors: Aviza will be exhibiting at this year's SEMICON West exhibition, to be held from Tuesday, July 15 through Thursday, July 17, 2008.
