Microfluidics is an advancing technology that enables controlling minute liquid quantities. The Zeta-200 Automated 3D metrology system is capable of measuring microfluidic devices that have transparent cover plates, transparent substrate and channels.
Data storage design demands extreme requirements on hard disks and other components. The Zeta-20 3D Imaging and Metrology Microscope measures the parameters that ensure high performance of disk drives such as edge chamfer angle, roughness, disk rolloff, sidewall defects, lube pickup, step heights, defects and roughness.
To use electron or ion beams to create nano-patterns the three methods that are typically used include ion beam milling, beam induced chemistry (deposition and etch), and beam induced lithography. This application note provides instructions for writing, preparing, and developing patterns in hydrogen silsesquioxane (HSQ) films using a Helium Ion Microscope.
Nanotechnology has been well supported in the UK within a rather restricted budget, in ways that have encouraged the effective use of funds and with a clear policy to translate the outputs of basic research into future applications.

Single-walled carbon nanotubes have a diameter of about 1nm and the length is nearly million times longer. Sigma Aldrich offer SWNT materials and their synthesis with controlled structures is described.
Aldrich Materials Science, in partnership with TDA Research, is pleased to introduce purified Small-Gap Fullerenes (SGFs). The small band gap properties of these fullerenes are excellent for use in photovoltaic devices, as well as antioxidants, semiconductors, sorbents and catalyst supports.
[60]PCBM is present as a single isomer. An interesting feature of [60]PCBM which may correlate with its performance is that it preserves to a high degree the electronic and physical properties of C60. It is used in photovoltaics, fiel effect transistors and photodetectors.
Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are a form of elemental carbon that resemble graphite in that they consist of a network of carbon atoms arranged in six member rings. Advantages of CoMoCAT multi-walled carbon nanotubes compared to conventional MWNTs are presented.
