Unidym to Demonstrate Nanotube Based Electrodes for Use in Advanced Displays

Unidym, Inc, a majority-owned subsidiary of Arrowhead Research Corporation, announced today that it will participate in the upcoming Society for Information Display (SID) International Symposium, Seminar and Exhibition at the Los Angeles Convention Center May 18th through 23rd. The company will be exhibiting its carbon nanotube-based transparent conductive electrodes designed for use in displays and touch panels at its booth (#504). In addition, Unidym's CTO, Dr. Paul Drzaic, will chair a session discussing e-paper (Session 46) and present a short paper (Session 37.4) discussing the integration of carbon nanotube-based transparent electrodes into display applications.

Unidym is a leader in the development and manufacture of carbon nanotubes for applications in the electronics industry. The company's transparent conductive electrodes are designed to directly replace the ITO-based electrodes currently used in touch screens and LCD displays. These flexible transparent electrodes use encapsulated, conductive networks of carbon nanotubes placed on a variety of substrate materials. Unidym has been working closely with display and touch screen manufacturers to ensure the electrodes meet their established requirements.

Dr. Drzaic heads Unidym's technology strategy and advanced development program. His publications include numerous articles in various journals and symposia proceedings, plus an extensive book concerning liquid crystal technology. He holds over 50 US Patents in display, flexible electronics, printed electronics and RFID technologies. Dr. Drzaic is a Fellow of SID, has organized several major SID conferences, and has served on the SID Board of Directors for the past six years.

With over 6,000 members, SID is the leading international professional society exclusively devoted to the advancement of electronic-display technology, manufacturing, and applications. SID promotes industry and academic technology development, and educates the general public on coming trends in display technology. SID also brings today's display technology leaders together-accelerating progress and collaboration.
