Conference Bringing Colloid and Surface Science Researchers and Technologists Together

Two international scientific groups, the International Association of Colloid and Interface Scientists and the American Chemical Society Division of Colloid and Surface Science, will come together June 14 - 19, 2009 at Columbia University Morningside Campus in New York City to host the Joint 13th International Conference on Surface and Colloid Science and the 83rd Colloid and Surface Science Symposium.

This conference will bring together top researchers and technologists focusing on a wide range of topics that come under the umbrella of colloid and surface science. Approximately 1300 abstracts were submitted to the conference. Presentations will include invited plenary and oral presentations, contributed papers and posters. Various symposia areas will be featured such as Dynamics, Surfactants and Supermolecular Assemblies, Biology and Health Sciences, Engineering at the Nano-Scale and Nano-Technology, Environmental Colloid and Interfacial Processes and the Future Directions in Colloid and Surface Science.

Early registration is opened until Monday, March 30, 2009. Registration fees for members $695; nonmembers $795; students $250; and guest $100. Attendees are encouraged to register during early registration as late registration fees will be slightly higher. Late registration begins March 31 - June 1, 2009. Housing is opened until Wednesday, May 13, 2009. A block of rooms have been contracted at the Doubletree Ft. Lee and the Holiday Inn Ft. Lee both located in New Jersey; and Hotel Newton and the Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers in New York, NY. Rates range from $125 - $299 and are subject to a15% to 17.75% room and occupancy tax depending on the property selection (subject to change). Dormitory housing is also available at the ColumbiaUniversity's Morningside Campus at a rate of $90 per person plus tax.
