ViriChip To Detect Viruses Faster And More Accurately - New Product

A new silicon chip that uses nanotechnology promises to allow the detection of viruses faster, and more accurately, than ever before. The device, called the “ViriChip” was developed by a joint team from BioForce Nanosciences and Des Moines University.

The ViriChip is a small silicon chip with tiny droplets of antibodies printed on the surface. A single ViriChip can be printed with hundreds of different antibodies. Viruses selectively attach to certain antibodies and can then be detected using an atomic force microscope (AFM).
