The University of Illinois Nanotechnology Lab is to be increased in size by 50 percent.  The $18 million reconfiguration of the Micro and Nanotechnology Lab on the UI's Engineering Quad is designed to keep researchers ahead of the field in the fast evolving discipline.

The present 95000 square foot building will be increased by an additional 45000 square feet to study photonics, microelectronics, nanotechnology and biotechnology.
