China Moves To Third Place In Nanotech Race - News Item

In the past two years nanotechnology research in China has grown rapidly with the number of Chinese nanotech related patents moving the country to third place behind the USA and Japan.

The Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology (MST), reports that in the decade up to 2001, China's total applications for nanotechnology patents were less than 1000. Since then Chinese patents have soared with China holding around 12 percent of the world's total.
