OHSU Researchers Discover New Way To Make Silicon Nanowires - New Technology

OHSU researchers at the OGI School of Science & Engineering have come up with a new way to make silicon nanowires by growing them on electrodes for transistors.

Electrical fields are used to influence the nanowires to grow where they are required and in the exact direction needed to make various electronic devices. It is hoped that the discovery will lead to the fabrication of faster computers.
