U.S. Senator Ron Wyden, Congressional Nanotech Pioneer, to Speak at NanoBusiness 2004 - News Item

Penton Media and the NanoBusiness Alliance today announced that the 3rd annual NanoBusiness 2004, Nanotechnology's Foremost Business Conference, has bolstered its lineup of preeminent keynote speakers and is pleased to present one of the true leaders of nanotechnology in the Federal Government. Senator Ron Wyden (D-Oregon) co-wrote the 21st Century Nanotechnology Research and Development Act, which was signed into law last year. For his efforts in support of nanotechnology, Senator Wyden was named to the Forbes/Wolfe Nanotech Report's Nanotech Power Elite for 2004 and also received the Science Coalition's Champion of Science Award for 2003.

"We are honored that Senator Wyden has joined NanoBusiness 2004 as a Keynote Speaker, and we are thrilled to bring him together with our attendees and the nanotechnology community," said Vincent Caprio, Event Director.

"Senator Wyden's determined leadership has shown the Federal Government that nanotech is for real, and his vision on technology makes him an outstanding speaker for our audience," said F. Mark Modzelewski, Founder and Executive Director of the NanoBusiness Alliance.

NanoBusiness 2004 takes pride in bringing its attendees the finest keynote speakers - the true leaders of the small-tech revolution. Like the nanotechnology community and its attendees, NanoBusiness 2004 keynote speakers come from diverse backgrounds, but share a commitment to excellence in nanotechnology. In addition to Senator Wyden, other NanoBusiness 2004 Keynote Speakers include:

  • Donn Tice, CEO, Nano-Tex, LLC
  • Nicholas M. Donofrio, Sr. VP, Technology and Manufacturing, IBM Corporation
  • Josh Wolfe, Managing Partner, Lux Capital, and Editor, Forbes/Wolfe Nanotech Report
  • Steve Jurvetson, Managing Director, Draper Fisher Jurvetson

"In addition to providing our attendees with a comprehensive conference program that addresses a wide range of important topics, our conferences have always provided that critical 'view from the top' from the industry's pioneers," said Nathan Tinker, conference chair and co-founder of the NanoBusiness Alliance. "NanoBusiness 2004 is proud to have Senator Ron Wyden and such an esteemed group of executives leading our conference program."
