Researchers Pair NMR-MRI Technique with Microfluidic Chromatography

Researchers at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) have introduced a compact system, by pairing a remote-detecting nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technique with that of a special chromatography version developed particularly for microfluidic chips, to help in high sensitive multi-purpose chemical analysis.

Amorphous Silicon Coated Nanowires Show Drastic Decrease in Surface Recombination

Harvard and Berkeley researchers have increased the sensitivity and efficiency of materials significantly by applying a coating to single silicon nanowires. The results recorded in Nano Letters imply that the coated wires can be used in solar cells and photodetectors.
