New Scooter Powered by Innovative Nanotechnology

Austin-based KLD Energy Technologies, Inc. designs and licenses a patented, high-performance electric motor system technology, is making its high-performance, transmissionless electric motor system available in the United States through a new, sleek electric scooter. The road-ready E165 scooter, powered by KLD Technologies' patented Neue™ drive simple™ motor, can now be preordered.

KLD's E165 scooter features the Neue™ technology, a breakthrough transmissionless electric motor system that reaches speeds of up to 65 miles per hour and possesses a range of over 100 miles on a standard lithium battery.

“We have received worldwide interest in our motor system and are excited to be offering it to consumers in the U.S.,” said Christian Okonsky, founder and CEO of KLD Energy Technologies. “We have worked to develop a scooter with a leading manufacturer that highlights our motor systems' transmissionless design and provides an exhilarating and comfortable experience for both scooter aficionados and those interested in emission-free, high-performance vehicles.”

KLD's E165 will be produced by a KLD Energy Technologies approved manufacturer, and is currently available for preorder at www.KLDEnergy.com. The scooters are slated to be delivered in the third quarter of 2010.

The Neue™ motor system uses an innovative nano-crystalline composite material to conduct energy more efficiently than traditional, iron-core motors. The high-frequency to low RPM ratio eliminates the need for a transmission and enables two- and three-wheeled vehicles to attain speeds and performance levels comparable to gas-powered vehicles.

Buyers will have the option to select from two versions of KLD's E165 scooter: a model ideally suited for urban environments with the ability to reach speeds of up to 40 mph and a highway-friendly model that reaches 65 mph. The streamlined, environmentally friendly scooters are crafted from a lightweight aircraft-aluminum frame and feature a wheelbase of 53 inches. The scooter seats two passengers comfortably and is available in three colors: mint, ivory and black. The scooters' amenities include an extended leather seat with under seat storage and sport windshield.

The first to preorder KLD's E165 will receive a limited edition, numbered scooter. Base price for the scooter is $3,288.00. Interested buyers can reserve their scooter for $500.00.

Earlier this year, KLD Energy Technologies announced a deal with Sufat, the leading Vietnamese scooter manufacturer, to produce its high-performance motor for a new line of scooters.
