Nanotechnology for Healthcare and Medical Applications

Nanotechnology is being used in production and industrial applications in North Carolina, especially in healthcare and life sciences. Companies help apply nanotechnology in medicines and medical equipment.

The North Carolina Nanotechnology Commercialization Conference held recently at the University of North Carolina Charlotte was sponsored by the state Department of Commerce.

John Hardin, Executive Director of the Office of Science and Technology, stressed that the conference endeavors to connect researchers with businesses.

Liquidia Technologies is a nanobio company based in the Research Triangle Park. The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation invested $10 million in Liquidia.
