Imec entered into a R&D partnership with Wipro Technologies and established its presence in the Indian market by setting up Imec India in Bangalore.
The partner companies would jointly work towards Applied Research in Intelligent Systems Engineering (ARISE). The initiative has been set up for the development of nanoelectronics and NEMS-based solutions that cater to growing markets in countries like India. The solutions that ARISE would concentrate on are sensors, energy harvesting and wireless technologies for some of the main industry verticals. The core team, consisting of experts from Wipro, Imec and educational Institutions, would be set up in Bangalore.
