Code named JEKYLL, this custom silicon solution was designed using ON Semiconductor’s internal 110 nanometer (nm) process technology and manufactured at the company’s Gresham, Oregon, facility. Completion of the JEKYLL project reflects a successful collaboration from feasibility evaluation to delivery of first-time-right prototypes and on-schedule transfer to production for the A350 XWB.
“This successful complex ASIC development is the result of a strong and detailed collaboration between Airbus and ON Semiconductor and represents our commitment to the high reliability aerospace market,” said Vince Hopkin, vice president, Mil/Aero, Digital, Foundry, IPD and Image Sensor products division at ON Semiconductor. ”Our internal 110 nm technology was an excellent fit for the high performance demands of this application and is part of our robust technology solution set from 40 nm to 0.35 µm.”
