Thomas Swan Begin Delivering First Consignments of Graphene

There has been a lot of interest surrounding graphene over the past few months with high profile stock market flotations and then the news from Trinity College Dublin that graphene can be manufactured in a kitchen blender – work sponsored by and licensed to Thomas Swan.

Thomas Swan has continued to focus on what they do best - manufacturing and supplying reliable, high quality products for their customers. In April, a new range of Elicarb® Graphene products was launched and since then Thomas Swan have already delivered consignments of Elicarb® Graphene products to customers in Europe and North America, with orders and enquiries continuing to grow by the day.

“We found that many companies simply want to understand how graphene can help create value in their businesses. To enable this, they require a reliable, high quality source of few layer graphene products and that’s exactly what we provide” says Andy Goodwin, Commercial Director Advanced Materials Division at Thomas Swan. “We have been very pleased with the level of interest and would like to thank the many customers who have already purchased our graphene products”.

Working closely with Professor Jonathan Coleman at Trinity College Dublin who pioneered the “graphene in a blender” concept, Thomas Swan has further developed this exciting approach and is now manufacturing graphene products at their Consett, UK site. The company is currently building an integrated pilot line and will be scaling up to 1kg/day of high quality, few layer graphene product by year end 2014.

Full details of Elicarb® Graphene products are published on the Thomas Swan website and the company will continue to provide updates at conferences throughout the summer. The next
opportunity to meet with us is at TechConnect World, 15th to 19th June, Washington, D.C., USA. We look forward to welcoming you at exhibition stand 212
