German Government Creates More Apprenticeships In Nano and Biotech - News Item

The German Minister for Education and Research, Edelgard Bulmahn, has announced an apprenticeship offensive with a focus on growth areas like microsystems technology, nanotechnology and biotechnology.

The apprenticeships will be targeted towards demand areas and Ms Bulmahn pointed out the urgency of the situation with a shortage of 3.5 million skilled workers by 2015.

Initiatives will also be developed for disadvantaged young people and immigrants.
