Cornell Researchers Link Quality of Graphene to Size and Boundary of “Patches”

Researchers at the Cornell Center for Materials Research claim that the electrical properties of graphene depend on how well the crystals of graphene are sewn together. Cornell researchers led by Assistant Professor Jiwoong Park at Cornell for Nanoscale science made use of advanced imaging and measurement techniques to validate their claim.

World's First Liquid Phase Photoelectron Spectroscopy Machine to be Unveiled at the University of Nottingham

X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) machines currently allow the study of only solid substances. In what is touted as a breakthrough that would facilitate atomistic measurements of liquid surfaces, the University of Nottingham has announced that it is all set to unveil the world’s first Liquid Phase Photoelectron Spectroscopy (LiPPS) machine at its Nottingham Nanotechnology and Nanoscience Centre (NNNC).

New Nanomaterial D2PA Improves Immunoassay Sensitivity

Immunoassay is a biological test that can detect a host of diseases like cancer and Alzheimer’s. The detection of the disease is linked to the detection of biomarkers in the blood, saliva or urine sample taken from humans. Biomarkers are chemical representatives of diseases. The presence of biomarkers sets of fluorescence when subject to the immunoassay test. The intensity of the fluorescence is directly proportional to the amount of biomarkers.
