Case Center for Synchrotron Biosciences to Become No. 1 Beamline Facility for Biology

Case Western Reserve University’s synchrotron facility at Brookhaven National Laboratory is on its way to becoming the No. 1 beamline facility for biology in the world by early 2016, thanks to a jumpstart grant of $4.6 million from the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB), a component of the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Nanomaterials Developer at Northwestern University Named 2014 MacArthur Fellow

Mark C. Hersam, a Northwestern University materials engineer who teaches the innovators of tomorrow and works across scientific boundaries to create new materials for use in electronics, solar cells and batteries, has been named a 2014 MacArthur Fellow, an honor bestowed with a $625,000 “no conditions” award.
