Y-Carbon Appoints New CEO

Y-Carbon, Inc., a nanomaterials company founded in 2004 and headquartered in King of Prussia, PA announced today that James Horan has joined the company as its CEO. Jim comes to Y-Carbon with more than 15 years of executive experience in the strategic management of science and technology companies. Most recently, he was the Chief Operating Officer and Financial Officer for Pennsylvania Biotechnology Center and its affiliated companies. Y-Carbon, a 2009 R+D 100 Award-winning company, is developing a family of novel high-performance porous carbon materials to address a variety of markets such as supercapacitors, water desalination, gas storage, and medical sorbents. Y-Carbon's proprietary tunable nanoporous carbon technology has been licensed from the Drexel University.

Jim is a seasoned entrepreneur with over 19 years of accounting, finance and operational experience. He has been successful in raising capital, both private equity and convertible debt. In addition to raising capital, he has experience in raising funds at the federal, state and local government levels. His industry experience includes technology, financial services, healthcare, life sciences, pharmaceutical, medical device, manufacturing, government contracting, retail, education and non-profits. Jim occupies board position in several companies including Enantigen Therapeutics, Russell Biotech, Therimunex Inc., Serigene Inc. and Green Oil Company. Previously, Jim co-founded LScan Technologies, Inc., a software and services company focused on the life sciences industry.

Jim is capable of raising the necessary capital and taking Y-Carbon to the next level.'
