iX-factory to Present Microfuidic Chips at Analytica 2010 in Germany

Microfluidic as part of Micro technology has a growing share in the economical development in this area. Applications are found in an equally growing variety of fields, starting from analytical devices for mass spectrometry and chromatography to devices used in pharmaceutical and life science research, from clinical to point of care diagnostics to industrial and environmental testing as well as drug delivery. The center of any device is the microfluidic chip.

From microfluidic chip to multi layered micro reactor

Being a partner of research institutes and the industry iX-factory GmbH offers its customers, additional to other services, the wide variety of micro reactors, starting with the simple two-layer micro mixers up to multi layered micro reactors with different layers for reaction and temperature control, combined in one reactor or as a single specialised chip. The customer determines the design layout and we advise according to his requirements. The size of the channels respectively the degree of miniaturisation is determined only by the technical possibilities of the structuring, which goes into the sub micro scale.

The channels are manufactured using different technologies – among others wet and dry etching as well as micro powder blasting. The use of glass as basic material allows the application of optical metrology, integrated into the glass chip.

The step from research and development to a full scale production is made by connecting micro reactors in a parallel system, up to the scope of the required production. Single modules are exchanged easily. In contrast to the usual batch process this setup enables the exact transfer of the results of R&D into the production. The time from the conception of a design to a full scale production is shortened.
iX-factory GmbH will present selected OEM products at the Analytica 2010 in Munich, taking part in the joint exhibition stand of the Federal Ministry of Economy "Made in Germany", in hall A3, booth 580/6. Professional visitors can view the single microchips and get informed about the services iX-factory GmbH provides. Management and staff will be open to all questions arising.
