2010 UK Nanotechnology Directory, listing 400 leading MNT businesses and research institutions, now available for free.
The NanoKTN is pleased to announce the publication of its UK Nanotechnology Directory, a guidebook to the UK’s world-class micro and nanotechnology (MNT) sector, featuring over 400 organisations active in nanotechnology in the UK.
The UK Nanotechnology Directory, available for free to anyone working within the MNT industry, provides users with information about R&D facilities and services available in the UK. As well as offering the potential to identify possible collaborative partners with specific expertise and technology, it will be used to promote the expertise of UK businesses to a national and international audience, ensuring competitors and potential investors and partners are aware of the strength of the UK MNT industry.
The UK has long been a pioneer in technology innovation and the NanoKTN is dedicated to supporting the growth of UK capabilities and raising awareness of nanotechnology both in the UK and internationally. By identifying and supporting the UK’s potential by working alongside organisations and promoting UK MNT facilities, the NanoKTN aims to further develop the MNT market, ensuring the UK stays at the forefront of advances in new technology.

The UK Nanotechnology Directory not only raises the profile of organisations, it also offers the opportunity for collaboration and the exchange of information and ideas,” explains Alec Reader, Director of the NanoKTN.
Reader continues, “A number of commentators over the past few years have speculated that nanotechnology is the wave of the future and will develop over time. To ensure the UK benefits from the uptake of new technologies, it is important that we form a complete supply chain now and support industry and academia with the research facilities and manufacturing capabilities they require. If the UK wants to remain a leading knowledge economy it cannot afford not to be at the forefront of developments in nanotechnology.”
By producing the UK Nanotechnology Directory, the NanoKTN aims to lower entry barriers and drive the widespread market development and exploitation of these technologies, building a prosperous, world-class MNT sector in the UK.
