XTIO2 Debuts Anti-Germ Nano-Coating for Consumer Electronics

XTIO2 has launched its personal protection coating product called XTI-Mobile nano-coating at the 2012 International Consumer Electronics Show.

XTI-Mobile is a durable, transparent and powerful nanocoating. It provides germ protection for electronics such as tablets, laptops and other hand-held devices. Chuck Gerba from the University of Arizona has reported in his study that the bacteria count in electronic products such as mouse, keyboard and phone is 400 folds higher when compared to that in an average toilet. The study further reported that remote controls used in homes have a bacteria count comparable with that of a flush handle used in toilets.

Dr. Birgit Winther from the University of Virginia discovered that cold viruses survive on telephones and remote controls for up to 18 h. The XTI Active-Shield nano-coating kills MRSA bacteria, hazardous E.coli, cold viruses as well as other germs spread out via commonly touched devices. SGS tests demonstrated that the coating material has a germ-destroying power of 99.999% when applied over materials such as fabrics, ABS-plastic and ceramics. The binder-free XTI-solution comprises only titanium-dioxide nanoparticles and 99.5% of ultra-pure water, marking it as a safe and green solution for consumers.

International Self-Powered Building Council certifies that the XTI-Mobile Active-Shield nanocoating is the ideal protective solution against hazardous germs, viruses and other bacteria.
