LiqTech SiC Membranes Being Used in China for Protein Recovery

LiqTech International, Inc. is pleased to announce that LiqTech SiC membranes are currently being used in the recovery of protein in a foodstuff application in China.

FANRUNSI (Shanghai) Fluid Technology Co. Ltd., a Chinese engineering firm located in Shanghai, has installed 240 m2 of LiqTech SiC membranes at a Chinese customer location.  The end-user is considering a further expansion of additional SiC membranes worth more than $1 million in 2013.

Mr. David Li , Managing Director of FANRUNSI remarked, "LiqTech SiC membranes are able to display outstanding operational cost savings to our customer compared to the existing membrane technologies. We believe that with initial success here, SiC application in the protein recovery industry could see a tipping point."

FANRUNSI (Shanghai) Fluid Technology Co., Ltd. is a professional company engaged in membrane filtration equipment and fluid engineering design and installation.

Mr. Lasse Andreassen , LiqTech CEO, remarked, "The LiqTech membranes have successfully demonstrated superior cost/performance for protein recovery, and we are very satisfied with the cooperation and work of Fanrunsi. We see a large potential in the Chinese market for the LiqTech SiC membranes, and this project demonstrates that potential in China can be realized fairly quickly by using our dedicated engineering resources to support our Chinese customers within the Energy, Wastewater and Food industries. The Fanrunsi order is the second order LiqTech has received in the last two months in China, and shows the strong contribution from our  recently opened office in Singapore. We believe that having local sales and support resources is important to our overall strategy and success."

The recovery of proteins is another existing market in the food industry where LiqTech SiC membranes can make a significant difference for the end-user. Using LiqTech SiC membranes in the process will save our customers both operating and capital expenses. In addition, in some cases the recovered proteins are of a higher quality that can be used in the pharmaceutical industry, increasing the sale price of the proteins for the end-user. LiqTech now has several reference customers for protein recovery in a market of substantial size.
