Elsevier Launches Colloid and Interface Science Communications (COLCOM) Journal

Elsevier, a world-leading provider of scientific, technical and medical information products and solutions, is pleased to announce the launch of open access journal: Colloid and Interface Science Communications (COLCOM).

Colloid and Interface Science Communications provides an innovative channel for the rapid publication of short initial reports on new fundamental concepts, research findings and topical applications at the forefront of the increasingly interdisciplinary area of colloid and interface science. Particular emphasis is given to novel experimental techniques and theoretical/computational methods for advanced studies of interfacial interactions and design of colloidal materials. Topics covered in the journal include: nanomaterials, energy production and storage, biotechnologies, nanomedicine, drug delivery, environmental sustainability, adsorption separations, catalysis, electrochemistry, food, pharmaceutical, personal care, and cosmetic products.

"Colloidal science, as a classical physico-chemical discipline, laid the foundations for the revolutionary advent of nanotechnologies in the 21st century. At the same time, the ground-breaking development of nanoscale materials and devices brings about new challenges, and the colloidal arena becomes progressively crowded, with a rapidly growing number of publications. COLCOM will provide the broad scientific community with a convenient and time-saving resource of urgent reports on novel findings in all areas of colloid and interface science," said Editor Alexander V. Neimark, Distinguished Professor, Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering, Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.

Rob van Daalen, Publisher at Elsevier, explained, "Colloid and interface science is increasing its interdisciplinary scope and is a fast-growing area of research. There is a need to share new findings as fast as possible and globally and we are delighted to be able to fulfil this need with the launch of Colloid and Interface Science Communications."

Colloid and Interface Science Communications will publish its first volume in June 2014. This first issue will be presented that 4th International Colloids Conference in Madrid, Spain, 15-18 June 2014.
