New Training Course on Teledyne DALSA’s MIDIS MEMS Platform with Coventorware

Interested in designing and prototyping MEMS with our innovative MIDIS™ platform and Coventorware™ software? CMC Microsystems is offering a two-day "train the trainer" event aimed at those who provide training and/or support to other users in their institutions. The course includes lectures by Teledyne DALSA and Coventor Engineers plus hands-on practical sessions.

  • Day 1 covers TDSI MIDIS process flow, design and simulation of MEMS devices using CoventorWare
  • Day 2 is devoted to the advanced tools and features of MEMS+

When: June 16-17 2014
Where: L-5904, Pavillon Mackay-Lassonde
École Polytechnique Montréal
2700 Chemin de polytechnique,
Montreal,QC, H3T-1J4

MIDIS
Our MEMS Integrated Design for Inertial Sensors (MIDIS) platform is designed to provide a standard process for manufacturing accelerometers and gyroscopes and integrating them into an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) for application areas such as consumer (mobile), automotive, aerospace and sports/health markets.

The training course will go through the MIDIS process flow and the design kit. You will learn how to use the MIDIS PDK to make your inertial sensor design.

CoventorWare
CoventorWare is an integrated suite of design and simulation software from Coventor that has the accuracy, capacity, and speed to address real-world MEMS designs. The suite has many MEMS-specific features for modeling and simulating a wide range of MEMS devices, including inertial sensors (accelerometers and gyros), microphones, resonators, and actuators. The training course will teach you the fundamentals of the CoventorWare software and learn how to build a 3D model and prepare the model for analysis in Designer, and run simulations in Analyzer.

CMC Microsystems
CMC Microsystems has enabled and supported the creation and application of micro- and nano-system knowledge in Canada for 25 years by providing a national infrastructure for excellence in research and a path to commercialization of related devices, components and systems. CMC and Teledyne DALSA cooperate to offer a multi-project wafer or "shuttle run" service providing regularly scheduled fabrication of multi-project wafers. With this service, designers can "share" wafer runs, conducting low-volume experiments with different designs on a portion of a wafer without the cost of a full wafer run.

Teledyne DALSA Semiconductor
Located in Bromont, Quebec, Canada, Teledyne DALSA's pure-play semiconductor foundry delivers innovative capabilities as a manufacturing partner to fabless and fab-lite semiconductor companies to help them succeed with their advanced MEMS or High Voltage Electrostatic Actuator designs. Teledyne DALSA, a Teledyne Technologies company, is an international leader in high performance digital imaging and semiconductors with approximately 1,000 employees worldwide, headquartered in Waterloo, Canada. Established in 1980, the company designs, develops, manufactures and markets digital imaging products and solutions, in addition to providing MEMS products and services. Visit www.teledynedalsa.com.
