Tokyo Electron Introduces Precio octo, New Fully Automated 200mm Wafer Prober

Tokyo Electron, Ltd. (TEL) (TOKYO:8035) today announced the release of Precio octo™, the company's new fully automatic 200mm wafer prober. Precio octo™ offers significant advances in OEE with improved throughput.

Precio octo™ touts a die-to-die index time improvement of up to 25% and a wafer-to-wafer exchange time improvement of over 25%. A highly modular design of Precio octo™ provides customers with greater configuration flexibility, reduced test cell maintenance costs, and easy upgradeability.

Precio octo™ is configurable with TELPADS™-I, an advanced high speed in-line probe mark inspection technology. TELPADS™-I allows users to achieve more than 60% improvement in PMI execution while collecting quantitative data for review.

We have successfully leveraged our 300mm technology advances into a smaller footprint to meet the continuing demands of the 200mm market. As a result of our technology, innovation and worldwide support, Precio octo™ has recently been selected as the next generation prober at Europe’s newest 200mm manufacturing facility," said Steve Nagasawa, General Manager of TEL's Test Systems Business Unit.

TEL will begin accepting orders for Precio octo™ beginning in January 2009.
