New MEMS Joystick from Knowles Acoustics for Handheld Devices

Knowles Acoustics has launched a MEMS Joystick that improves user experience during navigating, scrolling and playing games on handheld gadgets.

The company has developed an ultra low-power KMJ0401IC, 40µA in Active Mode and 3ìA in Sleep Mode for different means of user interaction through mobile devices by integrating entertainment and data management with mobile connections. This Joystick is flexible and can be incorporated into Smart Phones, Tablet PCs, Notebooks, E-Readers, Smart Remote Controllers, Wireless Keyboards, Gaming, etc.

Design of this joystick is compact and a fully integrated ADC by I2C interface and measures 9.8 x 9.8 x 1.6 mm, needs no extra controller IC; therefore designers can increase its performance and include additional aspects.

Knowles has been implementing MEMS technology in mobile phone, consumer electronic and design of other companies and integrate advanced applications. Now, the company has included this new MEMS-based joystick to the product line.
