Gartner’s Cool Vendor Recognition Validates Cambrios’ Silver Nanowire Technology

Cambrios Technologies Corporation, the leader in silver nanowire-based solutions for the transparent and flexible conductor markets, today announced that the company was recently recognized by Gartner as a “Cool Vendor.”

Gartner’s research note, “Cool Vendors in Touch and Gesture Control, 2013,”1 reviews Cambrios’ ClearOhmTM coating material’s manufacturing and cost benefits over wire mesh. The report also evaluates additional ClearOhm material benefits, including faster design modification; potential for lower-cost end products; and reliable availability of silver and other materials used in ClearOhm ink, unlike competitive materials, such as indium tin oxide (ITO).

Cambrios’ ClearOhm material is the leading ITO replacement material for the transparent conductor market and enables high-conductivity transparent film ranging from <10 to 300 Ohms/square. Touch sensors based on ClearOhm ink offer a more responsive touch interface and are more cost effective than existing technologies, stimulating mass adoption of touch-enabled tablets, laptops, Ultrabooks and All-in-One computers. While other competing technologies are still in development, ClearOhm-enabled products are already available through Cambrios’ global supply chain of world-class partners.

John LeMoncheck, president and CEO of Cambrios, will provide further details of Cambrios’ ClearOhm material in his presentation, “It’s Good to be in Touch,” at the DigiTimes CE Summit during Computex Taipei on Wednesday, June 5, from 12:10 – 12:50 p.m. He will focus specifically on the benefits ClearOhm conductive films and inks enable for smartphones, touch-enabled laptops and other mobile applications.

“We believe Cambrios’ inclusion in Gartner’s ‘Cool Vendor’ report, along with our continued success in large-format touchscreens, validates silver nanowire technology as the optimum alternative to ITO for creating a better touch experience,” said Sri Peruvemba, chief marketing officer of Cambrios.

In addition to touch panels, Cambrios ClearOhm material will soon enable a host of additional applications in OLED lighting, OPV and flexible displays.
